In order to provide better service to travelers and travel agencies in 2017, Mogao Grottoes Management Office now issue the notice as bellow:

1.Visit Mode
Mogao Grottoes implement the network of real-name booking system and real-name ticket entry system, and in accordance with the "People's Republic of China Tourism Law" related requirements, the single-day maximum passenger limit is 6000. In the peak season will be timely start large passenger emergency plan.

2.Ticket Booking and Purchasing.
1). Visit Mogao Grottoes Booking Website ( www.mgk.org.cn)
2). Add “Mogao Grottoes Booking Website” on Wechat or call booking telephone: 4008-333-715
3). On successful booking, please show your valid passport and booking number to the ticket office to fetch your ticket.
4). For tour groups the travel agency must show booking numbers and group plan as well as relating valid passports.
5). MogaoTickets office address:
- City Proper: Room No.102, Building No. 15 , Yingbin Huayuan North, Dunhuang
- Mogao Digital Center: Provincial road 314 at 9km, 500 meters east of Sun Spring Hotel.

3.Peak season and low season
1). Low season (Nov 1st – Apr 30th ) : Digital center (7 digital caves display) + Mogao grottoes (12 caves and museum)
2). Peak season (May 1st – Oct 30th ) : Digital center (7 digital caves display) + Mogao grottoes (8 caves and museum)

4.Caves open in 2017
1). 40 caves normally open :
12、16、17、25、29、46、55、61、71、94、96、171、334、148、202、203、231、 237、244、246、249、251、257、259、292、296、314、329、332、335、340、341、 384、397、407、409、420、427、428、445。
2). 20 adjustment caves:
9、23、44、79、100、103、138、146、152、204、172、201、256、311、323、328、331、386、390、419。
3). 10 special caves
45、57、156、158、217、220、254、275、321、322。
* Temporary adjustment to open caves and related policies due to the protection of cultural relics in Mogao Grottoes, whichever is subject to the latest announcement issued by the Mogao Grottoes Management Committee of Dunhuang Research Institute.
