On August 16, the 30th China Silk Road Turpan Grape Festival with the theme of "Turpan's grapes are ripe" opened in Turpan, Xinjiang province.
Turpan has superior light and heat conditions and unique climate resources, and the grape industry has unique conditions for development. Turpan has more than 550 varieties of grapes, the city's planting area of 632,800 mu, accounting for about 30% of Xinjiang's total grape planting area, accounting for about 5% of the country's total area, is expected to produce more than 1.5 million tons, accounting for about 40% of Xinjiang's total output, accounting for about 8% of the country's total output. Up to now, 330,000 tons of grapes have been harvested in Turpan.
"In recent years, Turpan City has focused on expanding and strengthening the 'sweetest industry', highlighting the characteristic, organic and high-end development direction, cultivating and growing the grape industry, forming the whole industrial chain of fresh food, drying, wine making and processing and utilization of grape branches, leaves and by-products, integrating and developing characteristic cultural tourism brands such as wine tour, rural style tour, and night tasting grape ditch. The grape industry has become the golden name card of Turpan." Turpan Municipal Party secretary Ma Xueliang introduced.
It is reported that the grape Festival lasts for 3 days, will hold Turpan grapes, raisins, wine, cultural and creative products and other "Turpan gifts" tasting, display and sales activities, extend the dissemination of grape culture, expand tourism festival consumption, and promote the high-quality development of cultural tourism industry.
