Jiayuguan Wei-Jin tomb paitings were selected into the history textbook

Recently, the reporter learned from the Jiayuguan Silk Road (Great Wall) Cultural Research Institute that the two painted bricks of the fifth tomb of Wei and Jin Tombs in Jiayuguan New Town were selected into the newly revised human education version of history textbooks. In Unit 4, Lesson 17, "The Temporary Unification of the Western Jin Dynasty and the Internal Migration of all ethnic groups in the North" and Lesson 19, "The Politics of the Northern Dynasty and the Great Integration of the Northern Ethnic Groups" are quoted and illustrated.

In September 2024, the newly revised unified history textbooks were used by middle school students nationwide, and 90 national treasure-level cultural relics were included in the history textbooks for people's education. The picture bricks "Horse Map" and "Mulberry Collecting and Protecting" unearthed from Wei and Jin tombs in Jiayuguan New Town are typical representatives of the tomb murals of Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, which show the prosperity of animal husbandry and sericulture in Hexi area in Wei and Jin periods, as well as the vivid scene of multi-ethnic culture exchanges and integration in Hexi land.
