On the afternoon of April 10, a delegation of guests for the 2025 Silk Road (Gansu) International Travel Agents Conference arrived in Dunhuang. Comprising officials from international tourism organizations, representatives of international travel agencies, social media influencers from 23 countries, as well as key inbound travel agents, media representatives, and delegates from China’s provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Gansu Province, the group participated in the 2025 Silk Road (Gansu) International Travel Agents Study Tour and the "Let the World See the Beauty of Dunhuang" Cultural Tourism Promotion Exchange. The event aimed to foster discussions on tourism collaboration and innovative pathways for the industry.
Wang Zhiming, Director of the Dunhuang Grand Scenic Area Management Committee, warmly welcomed the international travel agents and emphasized the significance of inbound tourism to Dunhuang. He expressed hope that the event would serve as a bridge for cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation. Through vivid presentations by Dunhuang’s cultural tourism promotion ambassadors, the international delegates gained deeper insights into the city’s heritage and offerings.
Representatives from the international travel agencies noted that Dunhuang’s unique historical, cultural resources, and captivating natural landscapes hold strong market appeal. They pledged to develop specialized cultural tourism itineraries tailored to their respective markets and actively promote them overseas.
The successful hosting of this promotion and exchange event not only expands Dunhuang’s inbound tourism market but also creates significant opportunities for advancing the high-quality development of the city’s cultural and tourism industry. Looking ahead, Dunhuang will collaborate with international partners to craft more attractive tourism products and refined service mechanisms, jointly writing a new chapter in global tourism cooperation.
